[ Dust receives an edition of The Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi that has photographs of armor/weapons, as well as ukiyo-e style illustrations mixed in. He also gets a copy of the much thinner book Hagakure. She thought of him when she found out that "the book grapples with the dilemma of maintaining a warrior class in the absence of war."
She leaves him with a handmade version of a grey-teal watercolor bookmark with a black tree shape on it nestled into the section of the book explaining what the Five Rings represent in The Book of Five Rings, and two post-its under the section explaining the Wind Book (Tradition) and Void Book (Zen/Nature) to hopefully draw his eye. Then one post-it on the blurb for Hagakure about the absence of war.
Then he additionally gets an empty journal with sakura petals on the front and nice fountain pen, plus a traditional japanese tea kit. ]
Merry Christmas, Dust!
I went looking for the kinds of hobbies that other swordsmen enjoy and found a lot of Japanese Samurai things as a result. I don't expect you to enjoy everything like a samurai did, but I thought it might give you some new ideas to explore on your own! If you ever want someone to practice the tea set with, I'm game as a taste-tester, but maybe someone else knows better than me how to really make it taste good! You could always ask on the BBS about it, right?
Hope you find some peace in at least one of these gifts! - Kairi
You are invited to Gegute's library (Elfnein's temple) on the 29th of April for a party! It is going to be a book party so you can bring your best book or even dress up as your favourite character! You can bring your god too if you want and any other friends! There will be tasty food to eat! See you there!
[ D2 will be searching for some specific people, and Dust is one of those people. He might not catch him on the beach or on the 8th exactly, but he'll catch him sooner rather than later, and he doesn't intend to take up that much of his time, just a moment or two to spare him is enough- and then once he spots him he calls out. ]
Du~st! I have something for you!
[ D2 presents to Dust a leaf wrapped gift, and inside it is two leis, one consisting of green ti-leaves and white tuberoses, and one of kukui nuts decorated with purple turtles. Besides the leis, there are also two pendants, one of a dolphin tail, and one of a whale tail. Both are carved out of bone, and very detailed work. ]
