[ A small package arrives at his place on the morning of Christmas. Inside is a video game cartridge for a platformer game.

There is a poem on the card, about games and reality. It's signed by Monika. ]

Are you near the inn, maybe? Either there or the park would be good.

Inn's probably closer. I'll be there soon.

[Since he literally is running into town.]

[ While she's waiting for him, she'll find a spot in the inn's lobby where it'll be easy for him to find her. ]

[Just as promised, Dust shows up in only a few minutes -- he can travel very quickly, when he wants or needs to. And Amy tends to stand out in a crowd, so he doesn't hesitate when he steps in, and heads right over to her.]

[ Luckily Dust tends to stick out as well, so she notices him around the same time and meets him halfway. ]

Hey there! I have something for you.

[ As she speaks, she's already reaching into her bag, and pulls out a cookie basket, which she holds out to him. ]

Tadah!

Oh -- wow. [Dust accepts the present almost on autopilot, still very surprised she'd even done such a thing for him. A pretty incredible thing, by his view, too! He enjoys few things in life as much as good food, and nurses a sweet tooth in general...] Thanks, Amy. This is really nice of you.

[ She smiles brightly. ] You're welcome! I don't know if you have Christmas where you're from, but it's a holiday where people can give presents to each other. So I made these for you.

[mithrarin]

If I knew that was a thing, I'd have gotten something for you too. So now I'll just have to do that and hope you're okay with it being late.

[He's gonna have to think about this. Getting presents isn't normally his thing; getting presents for young, sweet, occasionally hyperviolent hedgehog girls much less so...]

Don't worry about it! I don't give presents to my friends because I expect anything back.

[ But she also wouldn't turn down anything he might get her later, either.

With a smile, she nods. ] You're welcome. I hope you like them.

I'm saying I would have done something for you if I knew giving gifts was a tradition right now, whether you'd gotten me something or not. [Those sorts of things aren't conditional, after all.] I really appreciate this, though.

[pricklybloom]

[ She shrugs with a grin. ] Well, there's always the chance for next year. [ Assuming they were both still here by then. ] But yeah, enjoy them.

Anyway, I should get going. I have a few other gifts to deliver.
